Mary Margaret—the patience you have for this little boy of yours, the hope you have for his bright future; it is amazing. You are SO blessed; my friend. Doc is lucky to have you as his mama. I wish you a year ahead full of joy; one that reminds you how highly favored & loved you truly are! Love you; sweet friend!

There was a time I swore to myself “no more”.

I was convinced I would be happy alone. I was not open to dating. I wanted to be a single mom.

The only man that felt safe was my dad. I was closed off. It was a season of healing, and looking back, it’s exactly what my soul needed—Praise God!

He knew I needed you. He knew I could step into your daughters life and show her love. He knew you could step into my sons life and love him too. He knew we would have this little bundle of joy to call our own; He planned it even when my mind was checked out and my heart was heavy.

You are the one I didn’t see coming. You are the best surprise. You are the answer to my parents prayers. You are my favorite image to capture; to make time stand still. You are my reminder that God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good!

Today I’m extra grateful for my husband and our little family ❤️ Thank You Lord for giving me exactly what I needed, instead of what I thought I wanted. Your ways are so much better 🙌🏼

Last December on Christmas morning, I prayed a very special prayer. My only wish was to have a baby with my husband. It went a little something like...”Ok God. I’m going to trust Your timing with this. I’m going to believe for it, BUT will You give me a sign? If it snows on Christmas morning, then I know we will be blessed with a baby by You”. Snow wasn’t in the forecast but sure enough, after Brooklynn & Liam opened their presents Christmas morning, Curtis & I saw flurries outside the window. My eyes got watery with the best happy tears and I just knew.

Miss Emryn Grace made her appearance September 24th, 2021 at 8:44am weighing 8lbs 2oz and measuring 20.5in long. She’s such a sweet addition to our blended family. We are so blessed to have this miracle baby.

First session after maternity leave and I got to meet these two precious kiddos! Sessions like this have a special place in my heart—I love the spontaneous nature, the joy, the genuine smiles, the rambunctious personalities. Their mama is doing an awesome job; her patience and love is so admirable. Deanna—thank you for a great first session back; you’re a rockstar mama!

Sheeeeesh it’s about time for an update! Thank you to those of you who have privately reached out asking about my photography page and if I’m still scheduling sessions.

At the beginning of the year, I had the opportunity to capture a couples special day at their wedding! I was only a few weeks pregnant at that time, and I had a very quick decline in my health. For some reason, I wasn’t able to keep food or liquid down, which resulted in ER trips to ensure baby was ok. After weeks of bed rest and some medication changes, I was able to keep things down again! Baby is growing and thriving too!

However, during that time, it was tough to do daily activities like play with our toddler, bond with our pre-teen, walk our dog, even doing the laundry took most of my energy. Naturally, I took a step back from being the busy body that I am. Now, I am feeling SO much better and my energy is back—PRAISE GOD for that!

My husband wanted to get behind the camera and take some shots of my growing belly; we cannot wait to welcome our baby girl into the world on Sept. 24th, 2021! While we have been working on a very big project since last November (there will be an announcement on this soon), I am back to scheduling and looking forward to seeing my clients! Again—thank you for lifting us up in prayer and for checking in.

B wanted a photo session in the snow with Charlie yesterday, and we had a blast!

Can I be real and transparent for a second?
Being a step parent can be hard.

To be honest, I don’t really like the phrase “step parent”. I usually talk about B as being my bonus child/bonus daughter. She and her dad have been a package deal from the very beginning! She’s taught me a lot, tested my patience, made me pray; asking for guidance. I can guarantee this girl will be one reason for future grey hairs.

She’s also welcomed myself and my son L with open arms. She’s loving, talkative and spunky—the good Lord has given her a specific personality that He will use to achieve her purpose in life. I can guarantee this girl will move mountains and speak up for those who can’t.

My goal for this year is to do more encouraging rather than monitoring—it isn’t my job to lecture my kiddos 24/7. It isn’t my job to correct them at every turn. It’s my job to instill in them what God calls them to be—called, loved, seen, chosen, significant, forgiven; the ultimate masterpiece.
