Lasers and camera sensors DO NOT mix. 😬
This Sony Alpha 7R V came into the shop after being exposed to lasers in a club, leaving the sensor covered in dead pixels.
Unfortunately, once a sensor is damaged by a laser, there’s no cleaning or software fix. The only real solution is replacing the sensor.
Luckily, I had an A7R V in my camera junkyard, so we were able to give this camera a second chance by transplanting a healthy sensor and getting it back to doing what it does best.
It’s another reminder to be careful when photographing concerts, clubs, and events with high-powered laser systems. One wrong beam across the sensor can lead to an expensive repair.
♻️ Donor cameras save the day once again.

This Canon AE-1 Program wouldn’t stop firing! 📸💥
Every time you advanced the film... CLICK! It fired immediately without even touching the shutter button.
The culprit? A dirty release magnet.
Sometimes all it takes is removing the release magnet cover, giving it a little rub-a-dub-dub with some denatured alcohol, putting everything back together... and boom bam Bob’s your uncle. 😎
Big thanks to Biggs Camera for trusting me with this repair and for helping keep these classic film cameras alive. Biggs Camera
Vintage cameras don’t always need expensive parts—sometimes they just need a little TLC and someone who knows where to look.

Dust, grime, fingerprints, and who knows what else packed into every corner. Before any camera goes back out into the field, it deserves a little TLC.
This was just a quick cleaning, but it’s always satisfying seeing a camera go from absolutely trashed to looking production-ready again. Not every repair involves replacing parts—sometimes a good cleaning is exactly what the camera needs.
✨ Clean camera. Happy camera.

Out in Jackson Hole with one of the wildest setups I’ve ever run… panoramic medium format + filters + film. Doesn’t get much better than this.

Shooting on the legendary Fuji G617 loaded with Fujifilm Provia 100F 220, paired with Urth magnetic ND filters… but here’s the catch — you still gotta meter correctly.

In this video I break down how to meter WITH an ND filter on film so you don’t blow your shots or end up guessing exposures out here in real-world conditions. No shortcuts when you’re shooting film like this.

Jackson Hole delivered… light, landscape, and an unforgettable experience behind the lens. This is what it’s all about.

The Canon G7X II craze is absolutely INSANE right now… and with that hype comes the MOST common repair we see on these little monsters 👀📸
This G7X II came in with the dreaded lens issue, and with parts becoming harder and harder to source, repairs like this are getting more stressful by the day. These cameras are everywhere right now thanks to TikTok, YouTube, and creators bringing point & shoots back to life 🔥
Luckily, we got this one back up and running 💪
If you own a G7X series camera… PLEASE be careful with these lens units. One small bump and it can be game over. 😭
Would you still buy one at today’s prices? 👀👇

Bringing a legend back to where it all started. 🙌

After 20 years away from the camera world, I had the honor of taking Gene Morrison—a retired camera repair technician—back into a real camera store. The reactions, the memories, the stories… you can feel the history the second he walks in.

This isn’t just a visit… it’s a full-circle moment. From decades behind the bench to seeing how far the industry has come today. Cameras may have changed—but the passion never left.

Moments like this remind me why I do what I do. This craft runs deeper than repairs… it’s legacy. 📸

If you’ve ever stepped away from something you love and came back… you already know how this feels.

👇 Show Gene some love in the comments!

No talking. No noise. Just a Sony A7IV shutter assembly replacement done right. 🤫

Standing where Ansel Adams once stood.
This trip meant a lot to me. I traveled all the way to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming to photograph the legendary Snake River Overlook, the exact place where my favorite photographer, Ansel Adams, created one of the most iconic images in photography history.
Being able to stand there with a camera in my hands felt surreal. It was a moment to respect the craft, honor the photographers that came before us, and thank the camera Gods for letting me experience it.
Sometimes we repair cameras that capture history… and sometimes we get to step into that history ourselves.
This was a special one for me.

If your Canon G7X Mark III screen is loose, wobbly, or flopping around - you’re not alone!
This is one of the most common G7X repairs I see.
Two internal hinge screws back out over time, and if they’re not secured properly, the LCD won’t stay tight. I got you, though! #
