When most people hear the word “elopement,” they immediately think of running away in secret.
That’s probably one of the biggest misconceptions about elopements nowadays.
An elopement can be just the two of you exchanging vows on a mountaintop.
It can also be a small ceremony with your closest family and friends.
I’ve seen couples celebrate in Airbnbs, downtown historic towns, scenic overlooks, private properties, and everywhere in between.
The location isn’t what makes it an elopement.
The intention is.
Instead of planning a day around traditions, expectations, or what everyone else thinks your wedding should look like, you’re creating a day that’s centered around the two of you and what matters most.
Maybe that’s an adventure.
Maybe it’s a quiet morning followed by brunch with your family.
Maybe it’s saying your vows with 20 of your favorite people by your side.
There’s no right or wrong way to do it.
The best wedding day is the one that feels like you.
Your wedding day can be as simple, adventurous, intimate, or unique as you want it to be.
The only thing that really matters is that it feels like the two of you.
