What do you do when you show up to a beach session and it's pouring buckets, hair and makeup already done, four kids in tow? 😅 You wait it out, that's what. This family — her two girls, his two boys, and a whole lot of patience — sat tight through the worst of it last weekend, and the sky rewarded us with the most amazing colors. This is exactly why I never call a session off before we've at least tried. 💛🌊

Every session with me comes with full access to my client closet — and this dress right here is about to be one of my favorites in it. 😍 It hasn't even arrived yet — this is a sneak peek straight from the dress maker, it was special ordered just for the closet, and it's landing at my studio next week. I already have a session dreamed up for it in the mountains this September and I cannot stop thinking about how dreamy it's going to be. ✨ That soft, romantic, storybook feel? This dress has it in spades.

Okay so this might be one of my favorite things I’ve ever gotten to be a part of 🥹📸 my friend Brittany kept the girlfriend busy with a totally normal, totally not suspicious “photoshoot” while I was hiding in the bushes with the boyfriend, waiting for the exact right second for him to walk out and ask her to marry him 🙈💍

There is nothing — and I mean nothing — like crouching behind a bush with a nervous boyfriend, watching him try to breathe normally while Brittany somehow kept a straight face the whole time. My hands were shaking, his hands were definitely shaking, and I’m pretty sure a branch snapped at the worst possible moment but somehow we pulled it off without her ever suspecting a thing 😂 the bts video might be even better than the actual photos and I cannot stop watching it back

Can we talk about this bowtie for a second?? 🐾😂 Also the sunset, also the mountains, also the fact that this whole session almost got rained out — but let's be honest, the dog in the bow tie was the real main character today.

This is why I love pet-inclusive sessions so much, you just never know who's going to steal the spotlight.

Is there anything better than a stolen kiss on the beach while your kids wander off looking for shells and completely ignore you??
This session had a little bit of weather drama, a gorgeous flowy dress, and two little boys who could not have cared less what mom and dad were doing behind them. That's the good stuff though — the real, unposed, "I forgot the camera was even there" kind of amazing. 💕
