Newborn photography has definitely evolved over the years. I’ve been doing this for 7 years now and have seen such a shift from heavily posed newborn sessions to more lifestyle studio and in-home sessions. But honestly, posed newborn sessions are still just as magical.

Not every family has an aesthetic, light-filled home they feel comfortable using for an in-home session, and not every parent wants a session focused heavily on family interaction right after giving birth. Posed newborn sessions allow parents to fully relax while us photographers take over. We guide the entire experience, handle baby with so much care, and create timeless photographs that focus on all the tiny details you never want to forget.

There’s truly room for both styles, and neither is better than the other. It’s all about what feels right for your family and this season of life.

Don’t forget to book your maternity session once you reach 16 weeks pregnant. Maternity sessions are best photographed when you are between 28–34 weeks pregnant to capture that beautiful bump while still feeling comfortable enough for your session.

Being a mother has saved me in more ways than I could ever explain.
It’s one of the greatest blessings God has given me.

Becoming a mother is what led me to becoming a photographer in the first place.

This Mother’s Day, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to every mama who has trusted me to capture such a special season of life. Watching you step into motherhood and love your babies so deeply is honestly such a beautiful experience to witness.

Thank you for supporting me, trusting me, and allowing me to do what I love. I’ll truly never stop being grateful for it.

And thank you to my bestest photographer bestie for capturing these sweet moments of me and my babies. ILY.

For my Sacramento people I know you didn’t want to make the drive to Martinez now we have a studio near you!!

Summer is around the corner, which means beach shoot season is almost here.

If you’re planning a beach session, I recommend booking March and later. February and early March can still be rainy, but once spring settles in, the weather becomes more consistent.

Summer and fall offer the best light, clear skies, and beautiful sunsets, making them ideal for beach photos. Let’s get your session scheduled..
