One of the best decisions you can make on your wedding day?
Protect your portrait time.

I recommend planning about 30 minutes for bride & groom portraits — often during cocktail hour when guests are enjoying appetizers and you can fully step away.

Here’s how to make it magical:

• Schedule it close to sunset if possible (that soft, flattering light 🤍)
• Bring your bouquet for the first few minutes — then let it go for movement and connection
• Have your maid of honor or planner nearby for quick dress fluffing + veil adjustments
• Bring a small touch-up kit — lipstick, powder, or anything that keeps you feeling camera-ready
• Most importantly… slow down. This is usually the first quiet moment you’ll have together all day.

And if you’re dreaming of something more editorial, coastal, or adventurous? We can always plan separate portraits on another day with zero timeline pressure.

Even photographers need to have their own photographer for family photos! My start with professional photography began when I wanted to take photos of my own family. I soon realized I could be behind the camera, but would not be able to be in the photos unless I have a professional take ours! So grateful for this life of mine and my supportive and loving husband who helps make all of our dreams possible.

I was looking for audio to attach to this photo and some of the suggested songs for me was “ the life of a showgirl” Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, and Coldplay, and then I saw this song from back in the day. I thought it was very fitting as I loved watching Hilary Duff starring as Lizzie McGuire. As I was thinking about the words of this song, I felt it’s very true for me.

I’ve got a life I love. A career I love. The family. I love the community and so much more. There’s a line in the song that says when I see your face, I go oh oh oh! And I was thinking about how I’m constantly smiling when I’m editing all of my photos. I’m smiling to get your attention while taking the photos and I’m smiling as I work on every individual picture. I swear I have more some lines these days considering how often I am outside and encouraging others to smile! I love it though and it truly brings me joy.

🤩 Within a couple weeks, I will be working on the new photo studio space I’ll have attached to my home. I’m so excited for this next chapter! I’ve loved working with my wonderful clients who I can call friends now and look forward to the opportunities to come in the studio.

A destination engagement photo session San Francisco is such a dream. Chinmayee and Sri planned a trip to the Bay Area and were so excited to take photos with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. We planned for a very early sunrise session due to their short weekend in the city. Because weather in San Francisco is unpredictable we took proper measures to anticipate a weather change, but we’re disappointed with the heavy fog that rolled over and stayed over at Baker beach. Our backup location with the palace of fine arts. As it wasn’t the expected destination Photoshoot, it was a little disappointing to have to change the location at first, but with time and flexibility on both of our parts we were able to decide on staying at the palace of fine arts a couple hours later. Though still in the fog and you capture stunning photos with beautiful lighting. Keep in mind for your San Francisco destination, wedding elopement or engagement photo shoot!
