Coming and going...
Having kids involved in sports nearly since they were born, taking pictures of every activity was my job as dad. It wasn’t until we moved to Harrisonville and the oldest was going into the 7th grade that taking pictures started to become more of a focus. Within five years I had invested in my first dslr camera kit and I had officially become hooked on photography. But it wasn’t until 2016 (my youngest son’s senior year) that I scratched the surface of sports photography. That year I created a football senior banner for my youngest son that soon grabbed the attention of his teammates. I wound up doing a banner for all of them. That spread to a couple more teams/groups that year. The next year, 2017-17, I found myself working with 8 different teams/groups in creating senior banners and posters.
2018 is bringing a new addition to the sports photography endeavor. As we look to improve the techniques and photography side of creating banners, I’m looking to broaden my skills through photographing events (sporting, school, etc). My oldest daughter is involved with show choir and taking pictures at several of their shows has been fun. I’ll be spending more time getting out to other sporting and school events to take photographs that parents and students can later purchase.
