Crystal was an absolute delight to work with. We caught the tail end of the sunflowers and had a blast. She did an awesome job of customizing her photos to fit her.

Sunflowers have all but faded and summer is rapidly coming to a close. I just finished delivering all the sunflower minis and moving on to some of the beautiful sessions from this past week.

We are entering 33 weeks with our baby girl. We have a few more openings up on the booking site and I'll be adding more as we get closer to them. I'm going to keep taking photos as long as I can! :)

Our house is in full fair prep and cheer practice mode. But we are hanging on to every last thread of summer we can. How are you soaking up the last bits of summer this week?

A few years ago, I walked into my first MomCo meeting hoping to meet a few other moms. It was completely outside my comfort zone and I definitely chickened out two times before making in the doors.

I had no idea how much it would shape my life. It was worth every nervous step.

Motherhood is beautiful, but it can also feel surprisingly lonely. Having a place to laugh, learn, ask questions, celebrate, and simply be known has become one of the greatest gifts of this season.

For the past few years, I've had the privilege of helping lead our local group, and we've been busy planning another year together.

Meet my husband, Mike.

Since it's his birthday today, it seems like the perfect time to introduce him again.
You may not see him at many sessions, but he's always behind the scenes.

I'm the dreamer.
He's the, "Let's do this," planner.

He's the muscle behind the sets and the car packed to the roof with props.

He built a fireplace for a Christmas set.

Encouraged me to fill the studio with flour and laughter.

And he's even stepped in as an incredible second shooter for a few lucky weddings.

At home, he's an avid hunter and fisherman.
Our calendar revolves around the seasons. Deer season. Turkey season. Pheasant season. Fishing season. They all go on the calendar like holidays.

He studies lake topography, fish behavior, and wildlife in a way I'll probably never understand... but I love listening to him talk about it.

He's one of the kindest, smartest people I know.
A steady partner.
My best friend.
An incredible dad.

And the person who's quietly helped Honeysuckle Creek become what it is today.
