Okayyyy, people have been asking me... what changed? why newborn photography?
For years, I said I’d never do it.
When I started my nursing career, I actually took a break from photography entirely. I became a NICU nurse—and working with tiny babies has changed me. I got comfortable caring for them, learning their rhythms, their fragility, and their resilience.
Then I had two kids of my own. One of them spent 54 days in the very NICU I work in after being born preterm. That experience deepened my appreciation for the fleeting, beautiful moments that make a newborn’s early days so special (and so worth capturing).
Over the past few years, I’ve also had the privilege of volunteering with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, photographing sleeping babies for families who have experienced loss. This work holds a special place in my heart and has taught me how powerful and meaningful photography can be, even in the most difficult moments.
Between my own children, my NICU work, and NILMDTS, I’ve grown more comfortable—AND more inspired—than ever with newborns. What once felt intimidating now feels like a calling.
So here I am, stepping into newborn photography professionally after years of thinking I’d never do it. I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you all!!🤍
✨ I’m so excited for my upcoming model sessions & can’t wait to meet some tiny new friends! Introductory pricing will be available for everyone soon— so stay tuned if you’re hoping to book a session.
Here’s a little peek at one of the tiny humans who taught me so much about love, patience, and the beauty in the smallest details.
(P.S. I’m focusing on in-home sessions so families can stay comfortable and relaxed during these vulnerable first weeks—a choice inspired by my own experience as a postpartum mom.)
