Hi guys, it’s KATE here! 👋🏼

I wanted to write up a little Kate & Katie Co. update for ya!
On January 1st, my family of 5 + our two dogs made a huge move to Mesa, Arizona. This move was so exciting, but also came with a lot of challenges too. Picking up life and moving 30+ hours away from the UP and everyone you know and love was difficult in so many ways, but leaving your best friend and the business we’ve built from the ground up was a new level of emotional.
So, I am here to clear the air and say I am still here!!! Just behind the scenes, editing from Arizona. .a.benda has lead our 2025 wedding season in the Upper Peninsula while I’ve been editing weddings from Arizona. Our 2026 packages look a little different since I won’t be in the UP to photograph these with Katie.
All other sessions (family, engagement, etc.) are taken on by Katie and what she has time for since I am no longer there to do actual sessions. For our double photographer weddings that are booked for the 2025 season (or for future seasons as Katie needs them moving forward) we have hired on trusted seconds (thank you to these ladies for stepping in to help Kate & Katie Co. continue to thrive). Many of you have seen Mya at this years weddings and she has been an absolute wonderful helping hand to fill my shoes.
I do want to thank you for being the most amazing clients! This move was challenging in many ways, but moving across the country from your best friend has been one of the toughest things I’ve done. Callen (my youngest) turned 1 in April and it was the first of many birthday photos of my kids that “Auntie Katie” wasn’t there to help get a good giggle out of them.
We often end up photographing weddings where my sister is the event coordinator on and when I say I miss working with these ladies, man I mean it!
Thank ya’ll for your patience as Katie and I both work full time day jobs. We do our best to respond to inquiries/messages timely, but if you don’t hear back please send another.

I know there has been some confusion around me moving, so I wanted to clear things up! We are still here, we are still booking, and 2026 books are filling up faster than ever.
