Our idea with the camera angles were to highlight Emily while surrounding her with the art and community aspect that she is so much apart of. This project really came together nicely and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

Hello, I’m Elliot Kennedy, the other half of The Elm Creative.

I graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2021 with a degree in Film and a minor in Marketing. My passion for photo and video comes from a place of storytelling and helping others.

When I’m not behind the camera you can find me surfing the Great Lakes and rock climbing.

Hi, I am Matt Hill the second half of The Elm Creative!
I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Digital Cinema. I have a passion to help others be successful and if I can do that with my video skill than that’s even better!

I am married and have a four year old daughter. We love hiking, biking, and playing at the park. You can also find me some weekends at the paintball field playing paintball or at a coffee shop drinking a matcha!

We had a great time hanging with and diving deeper into her world of making and teaching. It was a joy documenting the processes that go into making her beautiful work, seeing the way she cares and challenges her students at , and connecting over our shared love for the area.

We’re very excited about how this project is coming along. Last week we got to speak with about art, her story, and how Marquette has played a role in her journey as an artist. We also got to film her observation club which was very cool and grounding.
