Currently Yosemite is getting smothered by much needed snow, and (if my phone and email are any sign) everyone's travel plans are changing faster than the chain requirements. Thankfully, as someone that lives here, I can be here to adjust and assist our clients.

Which brings me back to last week when these two good humans reached out for portraits on the last full day of their trip here in Yosemite. While massive crowds had their hopes pinned on catching a glimpse of the we went the other direction and had the park nearly to ourselves. It's good to know where to go and when to be there.

If you've ever had the good fortune to find yourself in a place like Yosemite with no one else around, you know the magic that creates. Wide open spaces, grand vistas, and majestic nature seeming just for you. So why not ignite that magic for their proposal?

If you've been following along this far, you might be wondering why I'm not here on the socials very often. That's by design. I'd much rather be out there, in the real world, sharing stories with real people.

And if you good humans are any indicator, you'd rather be out there too. This past year alone, nearly half of my clients asked that I not share their photographs online. Let me just say, I get it. Together we capture memories and create art that is designed to be enjoyed for generations - not just for a quick like in the doom scroll.

I have no idea where this online venture will take us, but just know that honestly in art comes first. See you all outside in whatever adventures life brings.

Yesterday these two good humans started a new chapter in their lives together. A simple ceremony at the Yosemite Valley Chapel surrounded by loved ones and an evening hiking & exploring one of the most beautiful places on earth. After a whirlwind trip through Colorado to help a friend, it's wonderful to be home in a place I love so much and to be able to share it with good humans like Melissa and Jeremy last night. Even after exploring some of the most beautiful places I've seen (maybe those wedding portraits may see the light of day here), there's just something different about the way the light glances off these rocks and fills this place with warmth. Exploring this place together, their love for each other and amazement of this beautiful valley is a good reminder why I'm so thankful to be able to do what I do.
