I've had the joy of watching Christopher grow up - from a small boy in church to a young man who loves the Lord - and now he has his own little sweet family. l've spent years being his family's photographer, and it has been a blessing being their friend for quite a while now. Once he and Shana married, I felt like I gained another friend in her. HIs mama and daddy are some pretty special people to me!
But as I sit here looking at these photos, I can't help but feel a little...well, almost sadness.
Time flies. We hear that, and we know it's true...but when you can actually SEE it?
Photographs help that. They remind you just how fleeting it truly is.
It seems like just a little bit ago, Christopher & Shana started their lives together as husband and wife. And now, here they are, with two of the sweetest little boys I've ever had the honor of photographing. They are amazing parents with some of the best behaved kids I know.
Some of my most favorite photographs are the ones that aren't "perfect," but rather, those that capture personalities, side glances, wind-blown hair, and little boys doing what they do best: being little boys. THOSE are the best, in my opinion. Those un-posed, REAL LIFE moments that makes us all...well, REAL.
I know that I will almost literally blink and these two sweet boys will be in school. And then...it will be their prom time, their senior session, and then, their graduations...and these little photos here will seem like a million years ago - and yesterday, all at the same time.
Funny how that happens, huh?
It's bittersweet, really.
But until that times comes, I sure do love and appreciate being able to watch them grow and being a part of their circle.
