Hot rods. Kustoms. Rockabilly. Horror Glam. Vintage campers. A Monsters Ball.

Naturally, someone looked at all of that and thought, “This needs a pinup queen.”

Society agrees.

Registration is open for the Miss Eville Shindig Pin Up Contest, where a little glamour among the exhaust fumes seems not only appropriate, but necessary.

October 3 Hot Tomato Portraits

Finally, a crown for those who hear traditional pinup and immediately begin plotting something strange.

The first-ever Mizz Bizarre Pin-Up Contest is calling for horror, theatrical, unconventional and wonderfully bizarre contestants.

And this crown is casting a particularly wide net: all gender identities, gender expressions and sizes are invited to compete.

Only 25 spots are available, with titles including Most Photogenic and People’s Choice, plus some rather tempting prizes.

Apparently, being normal offers absolutely no competitive advantage here.

Society is intrigued. 👀

I feel so rejuvenated and inspired by poking around in a creek and watching the sun filter through the branches of a forest. And honestly, for the first time this week, I felt fall in the air.

Your Body Is Not a Before Photo

Your body is not a before photo.

Read that again.

Your current body is not some embarrassing rough draft you have to hide until the “better” version arrives.

It is not a waiting room.
It is not a moral failure.
It is not a project that must be completed before you are allowed to feel beautiful, sexy, soft, powerful, playful, visible, or alive.

So many women delay everything.

Photos.
Swimming.
Dating.
Cute clothes.
Intimacy.
Vacations.
Joy.

All because they are waiting for a body they think will finally give them permission.

I hate that for us.

You are allowed to have evidence of this version of you.

Not ten pounds from now.
Not after the stressful season passes.
Not when your arms are smaller.
Not when your stomach is flatter.
Not when you magically stop being mean to yourself.

Now.

This body has carried you through actual life.

It deserves more than criticism.

It deserves to be seen with tenderness.
