At the Eagle Festival in Mongolia, I had the incredible opportunity to hold one of these magnificent golden eagles. Let me tell you, this bird was HEAVY! And I'll admit, a little intimidating.

Standing there with this powerful hunter perched on my arm, I couldn't help but admire its beauty and strength. But one look at those massive talons, and I was reminded who's really in charge!

I've photographed wildlife around the world, but holding a golden eagle this close was an experience I'll never forget.

And those talons? YIKES! 🦅

Hidden deep in the lush forests of the Great Smoky Mountains, Mingo Falls is one of nature’s breathtaking treasures. Cascading nearly 120 feet down a rugged rock face, the water winds its way through moss-covered boulders and fallen trees. Standing here, surrounded by the sounds of rushing water and the beauty of the forest, is a reminder of why I love capturing nature through my lens.

I was sitting in a small fishing boat just a few feet from this magnificent jaguar as he searched for his next meal. Suddenly, without warning, he leaped from the tree! For a split second, I thought he was coming straight into our boat! Instead, he plunged into the water after a caiman.

He missed his dinner, but he certainly got my heart racing! One of those unforgettable moments in wildlife photography when you're not sure who's more surprised — you or the jaguar!

I stood at the waterline, when the sun began its descent. The Gulf ignited. Burnished gold poured across the shallow tide, turning each gentle wave into a ribbon of living fire. The clouds above billowed and blazed, amber and copper stacked in cathedral layers against a deepening sky. The soft rush of each retreating wave was the only sound, a rhythmic, patient hymn echoing the endurance of this shoreline across countless sunsets.

Santa Rosa Beach has always been a beacon, drawing souls who need reminding that beauty endures. Bring this light into your home and let it restore you, daily.
