We wanted to get a little bit closer to these majestic peaks than the view from Minaret Vista, so we went for a drive, a hike, and took some photos.

Can’t resist a desert pitstop to break up the drive. Especially when a brisk cold plunge is involved.
…and yes the algae on the bottom was super squishy and filled with crayfish 🦞.

Last days of an endless summer down by the river.
No schedule. No rush. Just cold clear water, a sandwich, and the dog.

Places like this are perfect for doing a whole lot of nothing. Sitting in the river watching the clouds move over the Sierra, as trout hold steady in the current, tails barely moving, letting the river move around them. Seems like that is a metaphor for something.
