Memorial Day Parade, Hamlet of Navarino in the Town of Onondaga.

While one of the simplest and smallest parades I’ve ever attended, Navarino’s Parade may not break records for size, but in my opinion it more than makes up for it in heart and spirit. Every year I’ve photographed this parade, it captures that true small-town feel without losing the big-town excitement

Memorial Day Parade in the village of Camillus.

The first of the three parades I photographed yesterday took place in the village of Camillus. Making its way through the streets were government officials, local fire companies marching proudly alongside their fire trucks, various high school bands, and community support organizations. Children lined the sidewalks as candy was tossed along the parade route, adding to the excitement and small-town tradition that makes Memorial Day celebrations so memorable.
