Yesterday we had to say goodbye to the best boy in the world. Cassoulet was more than a dog, he was instant joy and never ending happiness. We got to spend nine years with him and I wish we had nine more but that was not to be. He was my snuggle buddy, protector (if only in his mind), and best little boy any dog mom could ask for.

When Tommy was traveling we kept each other company and had little adventures together. His favorite time of the day was when I got up in the morning and would make breakfast and sit on the couch with him. We called it couch time and over the last few months it became incredibly important as we knew our time was coming to an end.

When Tommy was home he would have floor time with Cass and cuddle. Cass was his world. He was his heart and soul dog and we are both devastated and heartbroken.

Thank you to all of you for putting up with his little pig noises and acting interested when he would show you his toy as you came into the house. Thank you to Danielles Dogs for always giving him love and walks. Thank you to Megan, his favorite dog sitter, for taking him on car rides and being the calm sweet person he could relax and feel safe with. Huge thanks to his first vet and my friend Stephanie Strunk Hickey who operated on him through the years and who we trusted without question when it came to his medical care.

Lastly, a deep heartfelt thank you to Atlantic Veterinary Hospital for opening the doors during our emergency last night and giving him a peaceful transition across the rainbow bridge.

Cassoulet has left a massive hole in our lives and heart but I am so thankful we got to be his family.

Well… this was dangerous for my wallet. 🐟

Yesterday’s adventure took me to Fish Haus in Kennebunkport, and it was easily one of my favorite stops of the day. Fish Haus features the work of Gabrielle Jolie, who creates beautiful handmade ceramics from her studio in the historic Dana Warp Mill just outside Portland, Maine. Every piece is hand-built and individually illustrated, making each one completely unique. Her Oceanic Ceramics collection blends elegant craftsmanship with a touch of coastal whimsy, and the shop is also filled with her illustrated tea towels, greeting cards, matches, stickers, and coastal-inspired apparel. If you love supporting local artists, this is a stop you won’t want to miss.

After browsing Fish Haus, we headed to Mabel’s Lobster Claw for a classic Maine seafood lunch before ending the afternoon with an ice cream flight at Scoop Deck. I can officially confirm that an ice cream flight is one of the best ideas ever.

Kennebunkport, Maine, coastal New England, handmade ceramics, local artists, boutique shopping, lobster rolls, ice cream, New England road trips, summer travel, hidden gems, and charming coastal towns… days like this are exactly why I love exploring New England.

What’s the best small shop you’ve stumbled across while traveling? I’d love to add a few more to my list! 🦞🎨🍦

🇩🇰 Before you book another trip to Paris or Amsterdam… hear me out: Copenhagen might just be Europe’s most underrated city.

Colorful waterfronts, royal palaces, world-famous food, charming canals, bike-friendly streets, cozy cafés, castles, and some of the happiest people in the world… Copenhagen completely exceeded my expectations.

If you’re planning a trip to Denmark, make sure these are on your itinerary:

✨ Nyhavn’s colorful harbor
🚲 Bike through the city like a local
👑 Amalienborg Palace & the Changing of the Guard
🧜‍♀️ The Little Mermaid statue
🎢 Tivoli Gardens
🏰 Rosenborg Castle & the Danish Crown Jewels
🌿 The King’s Garden
⛪ Frederik’s Church (The Marble Church)
🚤 Canal cruise through the city
🍽️ Try Danish smørrebrød, fresh pastries, and local food markets
🛍️ Stroll Strøget, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian shopping streets
🌈 Wander the colorful streets and waterfront of Christianshavn

Copenhagen is one of those cities that’s incredibly easy to explore, filled with history, beautiful architecture, incredible food, and endless photo opportunities around every corner. Whether you’re planning a Scandinavian adventure, a European city break, or looking for hidden gems beyond the usual tourist hotspots, this city deserves a spot on your travel list.

And the best part? I’ll be back this September! 🇩🇰 I’ll be spending a day in Copenhagen during a layover on my way home from Norway, and I can’t wait to revisit a few favorites while discovering even more of this incredible city. Stay tuned—I have a feeling I’ll be bringing home plenty of new recommendations.

📍Save this for your future Denmark itinerary and share it with someone who’s always looking for their next European adventure.
