📸Stock images are more effective when they don’t look like stock images and are personalized.

Here are a few random statistics I found:
📸Authentic photos have a 35% higher conversion rate than stock photos
📸Original images communicate what a brand stand for by 93% vs stock images at 57%
📸67% of online shoppers rate higher quality images as a deciding factor for purchasing

A photo is worth a thousand words, make sure those thousands of words are supporting your own branding message.

What photography mistakes are you making on your website?😬

1.There are a large number of photos with a random or busy background that are not related to your business (such as a field of flowers, nature, selfies, etc.)

Yes, these photos may look beautiful when displayed on a frame, but you have to think about what kind of message you want to send when you’re using it for your website. Does it display professionalism? Will it help you attract the right clients? These are some questions you need to ask yourself when choosing which photos to put on your website.

2.There are no horizontal photos where you’re on one side of the frame so that text or copy can be easily placed on the image.

Here’s an example of why this is crucial: If you want to add text over an image, it is better to have your body on the right side of the picture and place text on the left side. If your body is positioned in the center of the photo, the text will most likely cover your body and will be hard to read.

Last month my client got her product published in a UK arthritis magazine and the photo I took was used.

This is my 2nd client that has used the photos I took for UK magazine publications 🥰

It is wonderful to cheer on other’s win and even celebrate a little win for myself as well. I’ve had 2 clients use my photos for their UK magazine articles.

3 Tips from a personal Stylist

1️⃣Don’t wait until the last minute to pick out your outfits!
WHY: You want the day of your shoot to go as smoothly as possible. If you put off
selecting your wardrobe, this may cause undue stress. Take advantage of the
opportunity to plan in advance so you know exactly what you need when.

2️⃣Avoid cutting or coloring your hair sooner than two weeks before the shoot.
WHY: For similar reasons as those listed under tip # 4, it is best not to color or cut your hair right before a photoshoot. Fresh cuts and color can be harsh under studio lighting and can appear unnatural. A photo shoot is not the time to debut a dramatic new look, unless that’s an intentional part of your brand image.

3️⃣Consider NOT buying a new outfit for the shoot.
WHY: A whole new outfit is one that’s not been seen by your audience, so it’s
possible they may not recognize you right away. If you have “signature” pieces that
you wear often, wear those instead. It will help build consistency for your brand and
ensure that people know you are who you say you are.
