WCM Designs...Spring keeps moving into Summer slowly. Leaves are filling in, grass is growing, Turkeys are strutting, birds are back, and the baby animals abound. Here comes Summer.
I took some photos of our backyard birds and will post them soon.

WCM Designs…things change very quick around here this time of the year. It seems like yesterday we still had ice on the lakes.
I went out early morning last Saturday, April 25th, with heavy overcast, slight drizzle and chilly. It was just before our first real soaking rain this spring, which in 2 days here in Maple Lake, we received slightly over 2” of rain.

WCM Designs…Happy Easter to all and welcome to spring time in Minnesota. Here’s some photos from 6 days ago when we had a great +70° spring day going on. LOL, today we’re in a winter weather advisory while up north it’s a winter storm warning for up to 14” of snow.
Last Sunday afternoon I decided to go to Buffalo then come back to Maple Lake while snap some thawing ice on our local lakes. There all thawed out and open now.

WCM Designs...February 17, 2026 "Kites on Ice Festival"
Buffalo, MN had there 8th annual Kite Festival on Buffalo Lake.
We enjoy this every year but this year was extra special by winning the Photo Contest. I couldn't edit the photo for the contest but I did here.

WCM Designs...our yearly liking this time of the year out on Buffalo Lake in Buffalo Minnesota for "Kites on Ice".
Light winds kept the big kites grounded but a great turnout with plenty of great weather to enjoy.

WCM Designs…a nice bit of fun between Christmas and New Year down on Viking drive by the TCO Training Facility for the Minnesota Vikings in Eagen Minnesota. "Magic of Lights Drive 2025" and it was very nice. We walked around a little bit then drove the 1.25 mile drive through the lights.

WCM Designs...shooting photos in the snow is a bit different from when there's no snow around. An adjustment here, an adjustment there, and the image changes all together. Good learning experience.
The buck before Thanksgiving is eluding me, he hasn't shown yet, but here's 2 other ones. To me, I think there's a possibility that the last photo as they leave might be a father/son capture ?

WCM Designs…look closely at the first 2 photos, there’s another deer following her. Here in Minnesota the whitetail bucks cover a lot of terrain over the rutting season and this one is no exception. They both moved through to quick, I wish I had more time to get some better shots!
I took these shots just before we went to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving on (11-24-2025).
Hoping this big boy is still around to get a snowy scene of him too?
