Dear Valued Clients and Friends,

I hope this message finds you well.

It is with mixed emotions that I must announce the closure of RK's Luxury Studio, a business I have been proud to call my own for the past four years.

It has been an incredible journey, filled with memorable moments and the privilege of working alongside talented photographers and businesses like yours. I have truly loved hosting you and your amazing clients in my home-studio each month.

The relationships we've built and the creative endeavors we've shared have truly enriched my life.

As life takes us on unexpected paths, I am faced with the necessity of selling my home and embarking on a new chapter.

This difficult decision means that we will be closing down RK's Luxury Studio.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support, trust, and the wonderful memories you’ve created in this space together with your clients, as well as the many conversations I have had with you when you enter my studio doors.

Please know that I am truly sorry for any disruption this may cause to your plans.

While this marks the end of one journey, I look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead.

Thank you for being a part of the RK's Luxury Studio family, and please stay in touch - I have enjoyed hearing all of your personal business/life stories, and cheering each and every one of you on!

Over the past year or so, I have been contemplating, dreaming, and then implementing some major changes in my business - Rachel Kathleen Photography, and in the studio, RK's Luxury Studio.

Not only did I create my lovely studio space as a stunning backdrop, but I also have other vignettes and even a whole new niche to announce for the RK experience!

Every year, right around the early signs of spring, I begin to long for everything in my environment to be organized & in tip-top shape so I can get back to a place of calm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Something about spring makes me feel differently than all the other 3 seasons.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Maybe it's the newness in the air, or the feeling of life blooming around me, but it never fails to make me step into my day with a renewed pep in my step!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I have been selling old items of clothing, and slowly working through junk drawers and closets; and even though the progress may be slower than I would like, at least I feel like I am making my way towards the bigger goal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To have less things, and feel more joy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To enjoy the finer things in life, the simple things.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, today, I am sharing this happy memory of Clementine running and swimming in Lake Michigan in her summer dress.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I fondly hold onto this memory, I feel the movement of the water rush over my toes, and hear her sweet giggles as she collects rocks and plays in the sand. Nothing makes my soul happier than these moments right here. The ones that no one can put a price tag on.

Pure happiness.

Let me ask you a serious question. . .do you believe nature is the best medicine for healing your mind & soul?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After some processing this past month, I realized I tend to feel so much calmer in nature. And here is my theory as to why you may feel that way too. . .
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nature is consistently in balance - it is made up of matter, and has energy just like you and me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nature has answered its' calling or purpose, just simply by being present in its truest form.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And in that true form, nature isn't chaotic.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nature just simply exists.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every day, present as a tree, or a bird, or a blade of grass. And thus, the energy exuding from nature is one of calm stillness.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that is why, when you are surrounded by nature, you feel its' peaceful, steady energy, and in turn, it causes you to feel calm too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, yes, in my opinion, nature has a way of helping your mind & soul get back to a place of simple existence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A place where you can just be, instead of attempting to change or transform yourself into something you were not created to be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is why I share this particular photo with you today; I captured this image on a trip to Ireland with my mom and sister in April 2019.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So today, remind yourself that nature is there, serving it's purpose, and the closer you get to your true calling or purpose, the less chaotic your life will feel, and the more you will find your calm and your purest joy.

Do you believe that you were created for a bigger purpose?

Something more than being "just a mom" or "just a wife" or "just a *** insert whatever title you give yourself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have been asking myself this question for the past few months and have come to the conclusion that every single human being on this planet was created for a bigger purpose.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You have something that no one else on this earth has to offer; your soul is magical. The most beautiful art, is you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's so easy to get distracted by other things, and forget that you were called to something bigger than you or me. Called to love, to reach your higher self.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, on this sunny, spring day, remember to continually seek your true happiness, spread love, and sit in the goodness and abundance that surrounds you.

Your true purpose will shine through, and that makes me excited for you.

I know, I know, it feels a little early to be chatting about Christmas before Halloween is here, but trust me, you will want to read on!

Monday is here once again and she is one sweet gem.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Do you feel the same way each and every Monday?
Or do you have the Monday blues because of your work week or whatever ails you?

I use to dread Mondays.
But then....when Monday would role around again, I decided to make a big change.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I know you think I am going to say that I changed careers from a nurse to a full- time photographer, and now I sit around drinking coffee and smelling pumpkin candles all day in my pjs. And honestly, I can do that if I choose to do so.
But the biggest change, surprisingly didn't come from my circumstances at all - it was my attitude.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I posted in my stories today that your mindset is everything.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, if you dread Mondays, that's exactly what your brain believes, but imagine with me if you began to embrace them?
No matter where you are on a Monday morning, you can change your whole mindset.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your WHOLE perspective can change, and in turn, how you "feel" changes too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are you willing to make a shift in your mindset?
Or are you desperately holding onto your cranky spirit and negative thoughts?

A positive mindset is the most salubrious act you can choose for yourself.
