🌿 Softening Dappled or Direct Sunlight for a Dreamy Effect 🌿

Have you ever taken a photo under a tree and noticed patches of bright sunlight on your subject’s face? This dappled light can create a magical, sun-kissed effect, but at times, it can also be distracting.

**A Simple Solution: Try moving your subject a few steps further into an area of even shade (photographers call this “open shade”) for a softer, more even glow. Also, consider your tools. As a professional, my tool of choice is a large diffuser. However, for the general public, consider using a sheer scarf or having a friend hold up a jacket to help diffuse the light on your subject evenly. This will result in a dreamy and more flattering look (as shown in the example of the first photo).

Natural light is full of surprises—sometimes, a slight adjustment can make a significant difference.
