Did you know that not only am I a photographer and a surgical nurse...I am also a backdrop designer for one of the most fun and amazing companies out there!! It's a company comprised of photographers...designing for photographers!! I have a funny story behind this drop... when my daughter was just a baby, there was a monumental Poppy Bloom in California. The biggest they'd had in forever. My in-laws lived there at the time and wanted me to bring the kids for photos. I found the most perfect sibling outfits and spent a good amount of money getting everything in order for the images... We headed to Cali and the fields. That's when I found out that the California poppies are not in fact red, but a yellow and orange shade... What the kids were dressed in completely clashed as I thought they were the classic red. Did I still take the photos? Yes!! Was I disappointed they were not my vision, yes... I look back, laugh and think to myself...regardless of how much you plan, things will go wrong...but that's ok, because it's the memories that actually matter!!!

What could possibly be Stranger than Aylin turning 10??? Well...only her choice of a Stranger Things themed birthday!! What is so amazing about photography in general and designing backdrops for Tog Imagination Backdrops is that it allows me the freedom to design and create anything that I want or need to complete an idea, a theme, a wish... It's like being a magician without any tricks or sleight of hand...it's true magic.

Watching a dream come to life right in front of my eyes and having the ability to transform children and even adults into the characters they know and love...there's nothing like it!! Enjoy Aylin, as she steps into the role of Holly Wheeler from Stranger Things for her double digit birthday!!! There's certainly something creepy about no longer having single digit littles around here...

There’s something truly magical about senior sessions. These aren’t just photos — they’re the beautiful culmination of years spent walking alongside families as their little ones grow into confident, bright young adults ready to step into the world. I feel incredibly blessed to have grown with so many of you. I’ve watched your babies take their first steps, cheered through school plays and sports victories, and now I get the honor of capturing this massive milestone: the transition from childhood to adulthood. From tiny hands in mine during family sessions to watching them stand tall in their cap and gown, these connections mean everything to me. Senior year is a once-in-a-lifetime chapter — full of nerves, excitement, pride, and bittersweet goodbyes.

Getting to freeze these moments for you, to celebrate your child’s hard work, personality, and bright future, is one of the greatest privileges of this job. To every family I’ve had the joy of growing with: thank you for trusting me with your memories, year after year. I don’t take it lightly. Watching your children change, evolve, and shine has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey as a photographer.
