❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I woke up this morning ( I finally slept) overwhelmed with the out pouring of support, not feeling so scared and helpless! It's just me and my dogs and no one else to lean on. What ever I face, I do it alone most of the time.
All I can say is Parvo is no joke, it will not even give you time to think. It will kill before you even know it's there working in their system, there is very little warning, and it will come for the most vulnerable, the babies. Please don't fault a breeder for being over protective at times...they know more than you even want to know.
Thus far all floor mats have been removed and replaced with new, kennels have been removed and replaced with new, floor and walls heavily sanitized...3 times. My feet are yellow from it soaking through my shoes....my shoes and feet are sanitized, which is important because I'm pretty sure it's my feet that tracked it in.
Don't ever think a vet's office is safe territory, especially since they have special rooms they put people and their pets if they even suspect Parvo. You really don't know how well these emergency clinics actually clean those rooms. Parvo is big money for them.
I was in one of those rooms in July, some place I've never been before. False alarm turned in to a massacre just a few weeks later. All I can say is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, I would be done, I would not survive this without the help you have given me. Even my back up credit cards are screaming and my bank account is pretty much empty.
I also want to give a shout out to Tractor Supply, I talked to the manager at my store and he discounted me $200 off of kennels, an extra $10 off each of the rubber mats. EVERYTHING HELPS.
For you dedicated breeders out there, next time someone tells you you're just in it for the money....just laugh at them and hang up or block them, their ignorance is astounding. It's 4 months from conception to puppies going home, it's approx. $3500 a month to properly support a kennel if you have several dogs and to provide everything they need. You do the math. We are at the complete mercy of nature, whether it's something like this or a failed breeding, or females not coming in heat. IF I did have a husband he would kick me out. LOL The biggest reason most kennels don't survive for very long. It all sounds fun, until it's not and it breaks you.
