Every once in a while I "un-retire" for a special family, and this is one of those times. I've photographed the Vanderberg family several times, but this time was extra special because Cam is a senior!! I can't believe how time flies. I think Taryn and Teagan were toddlers the first time I photographed them, and they're going into 4th grade! They live out of state, but visit family in Southern MN each summer, so I'm really glad to have been asked to capture this moment in time. Feeling grateful!

As I've said in the past, I'm mostly retired from photography, but I'm doing a few high school senior sessions. This is Emily from the Twin Cities. Her mother was a personal attendant in a wedding I photographed over 10 years ago, and I was really honored when she asked me to photograph Emily. Here are a few sneak peeks. Emily and Cassie, it was tons of fun working with you, and Cassie, you handled that reflector like a pro :)

My great nephew, Luke Radunz, is a senior at Mankato East this year. Not sure how he went from a little toddler being herded by his grandma's dog to this terrific young man overnight, but it's happened. Here are some sneak peeks from today, Luke.

We did a session with Jordan a few weeks ago, but she also wanted one with a horse, so we met again today. Thanks to Jordan's grandmother's friend, Linda, for providing her horse, Bud, as well as her beautiful place.

I've been photographing Jordan since she was five or six, and somehow, suddenly, she's a beautiful high school senior. Can't explain how that happened. I literally had to remove several relentless mosquitos during the quick edits each of these images received.

Megan Geitz and Tanner Ties were married in Le Mars, Iowa yesterday (Aug. 20), and my great photographer friend, Tammie Mohr of Choke Cherry Design and Photography helped me photograph their amazing wedding. Every single aspect of the day was perfect from the weather (a little bit of rain early morning), to cool summer temps and a stout enough breeze to work magic with Megan's beautiful veil. The bridal party was awesome ten times over, the the littlest bridal party members were way too cute. Megan's dad is a minister, and officiated the lovely ceremony. The DJ kept the party rolling and the dance floor full. All in all, it was a wonderful way to wrap up my wedding photography career :)

Last night we braved high temps, high humidity, and bajillions of hungry mosquitoes. But Elise (and Clare...and Allison and Ben) were great sports, and we managed to make a few senior pictures.

Here are a few pictures from today's session with Shaye. It was cooler, but more humid. There's something (good) to be said for high humidity, it makes deliciously soft light.
