After 12 years, this job still shakes me. Still fills me. Still inspires me. Still has me falling deeply in love. Especially when I get to work with couples like Katie and Scott.

Photographing Sara + Alex’s wedding this fall was such an honor and awesome thing to behold. And while one could say that wedding days are always filled with love, this one felt different. Because the love that every single family member and friend brought to their day felt just as big and real as the love between them. When you meet kindred spirits that share your passion for living in the moment, the photography side of it becomes reinvigorating, almost effortless. It’s like the world is telling you that you’re right where you’re meant to be.

Brie + Nate, all I can say is thank you for not being afraid to be exactly who you are and for trusting in me enough to go along with my crazy vision of rolling around in the water and climbing barefoot up sand dunes! From torrential downpours to an epic moment of brief sunshine after their ceremony, Jayme + Greg handled all the ups and downs of their wedding day like true teammates.

I often tell my couples that no matter how much you plan, a wedding day is a living, breathing, unpredictable phenomenon. Kinda like life. But also like life, the best things in it are often the things we don’t plan for. And when you’re doing it all with your best friend by your side, those tough moments often become the memories you’ll laugh about and hold dear for the rest of your days 🤍

They say what you put out into the universe will always come back ten fold… and that’s exactly what I felt the moment Jillian + Jacob inquired with me about eloping in Door County at their family home. Because there’s people that get you, and then there’s people that GET YOU. Like understanding what it is to live life to the fullest - every single precious moment of it - with the realization that our time here is way too short not to see the world and get married in a way that speaks to your soul.

J+J thank you for accepting me like family & allowing me to be a part of your intimate & purposeful wedding. I am wishing you both so much love as you celebrate with your friends in Hawaii soon (since we all know I can no longer fly with this ever growing pregnant belly!) but am totally going to take you up on your offer to visit your lovely souls on the island so soon! Alyvea + Logan have known each other since kindergarten which kind of sounds like the perfect love story… the kind of thing fairy tales teach us about finding “happily ever after.” But what stood out to me most on their wedding day wasn’t the fact that they’ve practically known each other for a lifetime, it was the raw and honest words spoken during their ceremony about sacrificial love. Because even if you’ve known each other your entire lives, it doesn’t make love any easier. Love takes patience, understanding, forgiveness, and grace… but most importantly - sacrifice. God asks us over and over again to make Christ’s example of selfless love the foundation of our own life and relationships and I saw that kind of love between A+L not only on their wedding day, but every time I had the privilege to interact with them.

Every day is a choice and I pray A+L, that you two chose each other every day for the rest of your days. Thank you both for trusting in me to capture just one of the many beautiful chapters in your epic love story ✨
