It all started with a kodak camera where you'd have to manually advance the film...a far cry from the digital world we're living in now. I, of course, have had a love/hate relationship with that black box sometimes but I'd like to believe it's been more love than hate. At some of the most defining moments in my life, my camera has given me joy. It's been such a journey to evolve with it, learn, an
d continue to grow. I feel most myself with it in my hands and braver than usual when approaching a creek, Lake Michigan, or a narrow opening to get the perfect shot than I ever do without it. It's been a beautiful ride and I am grateful to have found such a beautiful friend in my camera. I love all kinds of photography....the hustle and bustle of wedding day, the perfect details on your fresh newborn, baking cookies for a lifestyle session in your home, embracing the connection in your family, and making every part of your life a reason to celebrate. I love the everyday moments that exist and find joy in creating art that you can hang in your home for years to come. I live in Manitowoc with my dog, Finley, and a large stash of coloring books. In my free time, I love to travel (anywhere!), go on adventures, sing (at the top of my lungs), spend time with my family and friends, and laugh (it's my favorite). I'm a hugger not a hand shaker and strive to be as awesome as Finley thinks I am every day. I'm a hopeologist who loves life, laughing, Smart Cow froyo, yoga pants and those who make my life better...especially those who not only make my life better but also make me better. When I'm working, but not behind the camera, there's a good chance I'm teaching high schoolers about the history of the modern world. Of all of the things I am being a momma to a fierce little princess and a sassy little boy is my favorite. I, too, first developed an interest in photography long ago, while watching the movie Stepmom with Julia Roberts, to be exact. She was so chic and glamorous; and of course the emotion of the movie and the photographs might have had something to do with it as well. Anyhow, from that moment I dreamed of turning the upstairs bathroom in my parents house into a darkrooom. It never happened (darn parents!). However, once I had my first child I rediscovered my love for photography all over and went and bought a super fancy camera that I had no idea how to use. This led to scheduling Olivia for her three month pictures, an appointment I never forsaw becoming so much more than a photoshoot. Meeting Olivia was an act of fate. Joining her on this magnificent adventure has been the happiest accident of my life. I am thankful every day to be here with her and with all of you. I truly love every aspect of photography. I love celebrating your family's growth, whether in numbers or in years; I love chasing after your children and capturing the pure joy of childhood; I love being there for the bittersweet celebration of your teenager getting ready to embark on the transition from high school student to life beyond. I love being there for all of your moments and thrive on capturing the raw emotion in every situation in a way that will bring you back to that moment no matter how many years have passed. Together we have set out to make magic, chase the daylight, and freeze your once in a lifetime moments. We strive to take you on an adventure and love your biggest and smallest moments. We are passionate about life and capturing every inch of it. We can't wait to meet you and spend some time inside of your world! XXOO,
Olivia & Jennisa
