Those first sweet little snuggles.

The newborn season can feel long when you’re living it... so many diapers, feedings, sleepless nights… but it ends sooner than you expect. And when it does, it’s hard to believe how fast it passed.

Hang in there, momma. Soak up the quiet moments, the demanded snuggles, the little noises, the first smiles. You are doing wonderful 🤍

I have specific memories from my childhood that have stuck with me. They’re so simple that I can’t quite explain how or why they’ve stayed with me… but I come back to them again and again.

One moment I remember sitting very still by my grandma’s pool, bare legs on the hot brick patio. Staring down at the bricks, trying to memorize the way the sun felt like a warm blanket... and a little scorching on my back.

The sound of doves in the trees by her house are still one of my favorite sounds.

Those tiny red bugs darting in and out of the cracks (you know the ones we’d squish on our fingertips and pretend we were bleeding… was that just me?).

Cicadas hissing in the distance... though back then I was convinced someone nearby was using a w**d whacker.

When I revisit this moment, I can feel the simplicity of childhood so clearly.

And if I’m honest, it makes me a little sad sometimes. I had no idea then how heavy the world would feel as I got older.

As a mother, I feel a deep responsibility to protect that lightness for my children... to let them soak up every ounce of their emotional freedom while they still can.

The early years ask mothers to slow down in ways nothing else does. Your days feel full... always nursing, always rocking, always changing a diaper, always being needed.

But what if each one is also an invitation to slow down… to notice? What if being pulled into slowness is actually a gift woven into these days that feel so hard? What if these are the moments we only recognize once the season has passed... but we allowed ourselves to embrace them now?

They shape babies, yes.... but they shape mothers, too.

At home.... it’s a beautiful way to create images that feel real, familiar, and deeply connected to this season of childhood.

I get it if the thought of having a photographer in your home feels a little intimidating. Many parents imagine messy rooms, short attention spans, and toddler meltdowns… because, well, that’s real life with little ones. I’ve spent many years both photographing and living this season myself. I come with loads of patience, absolutely zero judgment... and a handful of my own wild stories to help put you at ease 😉

If you learn one thing about working with me, let it be this: in-home baby or toddler sessions aren’t about perfection or performance. They’re about letting your child be exactly who they are... in the place where they feel most comfortable and most themselves.

If you are considering an in-home session but are hesitant because your house isn't "magazine worthy"... please don’t worry about your décor (or lack of it), or whether there are mounds of laundry waiting to be put away. The years with little ones are full — and I’m not here to assess how “together” you’ve got it 😉 I’m here to document the beauty within this wild season, so one day you can look back and see just how lovely the moments were that lived inside the chaos.

“My child has a short attention span, so we just need something super quick.”

I get it.

That thought usually isn’t about wanting less... it comes from experience. From days spent asking a little one to sit still when they can’t. From errands that take forever. From epic meltdowns over things like… opening the cheese stick the wrong way 🫣😘

After a while, expectations lower. Not because you don’t care... but because you’re tired.

You still want photos. You still want something meaningful from this season. But sometimes it feels like, “Let’s just get through it and hope for a few usable images.”

That’s why I take a baby-led approach. I don’t work against short attention spans... I work with them. I don't set a timer for sessions so there's no pressure to perform. Sometimes sessions are brief because everything clicks right away. Other times, we slow down for kids to relax and show their personality.

Either way, the pace comes from your child... and that’s where the magic happens 🤍

A reminder for the days that feel like a blur of tiny hands, tiny messes, and tiny moments you’re trying so hard to soak in…

You’re not failing.
You’re not falling behind.
You’re living a season that demands a lot.... and still finding all the ways to weave love into the fibers of your days.

It is not in vain... your little ones feel every bit of it. You are doing a beautiful job, momma!
