The Scranton Jazz Festival, established in 2005, has grown into a vital cultural event in northeastern Pennsylvania, now held at the historic Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in downtown Scranton. Taking place each August over a three-day weekend, the festival presents an impressive array of international, national, and regional jazz, blues, and world music artists. Scranton has a deep jazz heritage, dating back to the 1930s and early festivals like the 1951 Cavalcade of Dixieland Jazz. This event carries forward a longstanding musical tradition.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible guest, Mateo, for such a rich and inspiring session.
From her journey of moving from filmmaking into the world of jazz photography, to documenting musicians across the globe, Adriana reminded us that “photography is about connection not just capturing an image, but understanding the music, the person, and the moment.”She shared how she approaches every performance with intention, studying the musicians, feeling the energy, and allowing the story to unfold naturally through her lens. A powerful reminder that artistry, whether in music or photography, is deeply rooted in emotion and human connection.
We were also honoured to learn about her global footprint, with work exhibited in museums and festivals, including her contributions to the renowned Umbria Jazz Festival and collections held at the Palazzo della Penna.
