We also happened to book our shoot on the literal hottest day of the summer, and somehow you’d never know from the photos! I was especially blown away by the editing. You spent months choosing the details of your wedding day, so make sure they actually make it into your wedding gallery.

One of my biggest tips for couples: build a little breathing room into your photography timeline for reception details.

Ideally, I love having a few minutes to photograph the reception space before guests enter. That’s when I can capture the room exactly as you envisioned it: untouched tablescapes, florals, candles, place settings, signage, cake, and all of the little details you spent so much time choosing.

Once guests enter, chairs move, drinks hit the tables and the room changes fast.

These photographs might not feel as important as your portraits when you’re planning the wedding, but they become such an important part of telling the full story of the day, especially after the flowers are gone and the reception has been packed away.

Wedding planning tip: Ask your photographer and planner to coordinate a short reception-room reveal/detail window before guests are invited in. Even 10–15 uninterrupted minutes can make a difference.

5 things that make a proposal unforgettable that have nothing to do with money:

💍 1. The surprise feels real.
Nothing beats that genuine “Wait… is this actually happening?!” reaction. If you want to keep it a secret, don’t spend the entire day together trying to act normal. Having a friend bring your partner to the location (while you wait) is one of my favorite ways to keep the surprise intact.

❤️ 2. You say what’s on your heart.
You don’t need a perfectly written speech. Just tell them why you’re choosing them. Those few sincere words often become just as memorable as the proposal itself.

🥂 3. You don’t rush the moment.
Take a breath. Celebrate together. Walk around, soak it all in, maybe even bring champagne. You only get this version of the moment once.

📸 4. You can relive it forever.
The excitement goes by in a blur. Having your proposal photographed means you’ll remember not only what it looked like, but exactly how it felt.

✨ 5. It reflects your relationship.
Forget trying to recreate someone else’s Pinterest board. The best proposals include places, traditions, or little details that actually mean something to the two of you.

At the end of the day, an unforgettable proposal isn’t about spending the most money, it’s about creating a moment that feels authentic to your relationship.
