Did anyone else have a two-week delay on starting the new year?? 🙋🏼‍♀️ We were quarantined for 10 days and once we all were getting negative tests I was able to start back shooting again this past weekend so a full two weeks was added on to my holiday break from work. During that time I was able to work on all the *fun* things like taxes and booking automation 😵‍💫 but also we were also able to finalize our renovation plans on our house which is v v v exciting! If you follow my personal page you’ll see all that process starting up very soon! I’ve also got some spring mini sessions coming in March which will be at Hopkins Wilderness Park so if you’ve been jonesing a quick greenery session, you’ll want to hop on that!

Mamas do you ever look back at pictures of yourself pregnant and think how strange it feels to think of a time when you didn’t even know that baby yet who your whole world revolves around now? It’s so wild!

At most of my shoots I try to give mama a touch more camera time…no offense to the dads but in my experience, us modern mamas have all become iPhone camera professionals in charge of documenting the lives of our kiddos and dad gets to be in a lot of those photos while mama lives behind the camera most of the time. We love that part of our motherhood job, don’t get me wrong it’s not a burden and sometimes it’s because we don’t want pictures of ourselves when we’ve got coffee stains on our shirts and can’t remember the last time we washed our hair (*ahem* me every day, I’m a mess) but our kids love to see photos with mama in them!! I know that for family photos with me all the mamas have put that extra time in to select outfits and to make themselves feel beautiful and often the dads jump in the shower 15 minutes before you have to leave while you get yourself and the kids all ready to rush out the door to hustle to the photo spot (no? just my husband??) 😑 So. YES…the mamas get a little extra camera time at my sessions. I’m not sorry bout it.

One of my absolute favorite shoots of this season has been a home and beach session with this sweet family new to our Manhattan Beach community (who definitely make me want to have a third little girl to join our beautiful chaos btw!) You will be hard pressed to find such a welcoming, funny, sweet crew as this family and I’m glad they brought their good vibes to our town! P.s. this boss mama is the founder of - check out their stuff! I had to hide it from my 4 year old because she wants to cover her whole body in the under eye cream, understandably 🙈
