My previous post today, while of a photograph of which I'm proud, was previously-scheduled. This page will be going on hiatus for now so that I can focus on more urgent matters; thank you for understanding.

This dad posts what he wants on , so he chooses a photo from about a decade ago of his daughter's first (and so far only!) dance recital. This isn't like most of my posts, it's just a well-timed, high-key black and white portrait of a little one who deserved her spotlight.

Summer in : heavy clouds and sun and rows of soybeans, most of it made bone white by capturing only the high-wavelength bouncing off of it all. I particularly like how the rows of crops get sharp relief between the bright foliage and dark shadows between.

I believe this shot of the floral-like sculptures just outside of Park MGM came from my 850nm filter, giving the red sculptures and blue sky a greyish white and cyan color respectively. I think the people sitting and having coffee under the sculptures that morning didn't quite see what I saw.

Roving bands of roaming the Strip, terrorizing (?) the tourists. This was a quick from a distance as the leader of this duo waved in another customer. I recolored this photo using Photoshop's neural-net colorizer to give it a completely different look.

I'm not sure how much they charge for a selfie, come to think of it.

Going back to my recent trip to , I had the luxury of sitting in this bastion of the fort with nobody coming in and out. So, I set up my tripod and set up my widest-angle lens to capture as much of the small room as possible in .

These lilypads in the water off the Boy Scout Road Trail parted in a surprising way, as if they wanted to make a path for me to wade in. I came to realize later that it was no accident, that part of this opening in the water was due to the fact that it was the resident 🐊 path in and out of the pond.

I guess in that way, the high-wavelength effect of turning the water jet black takes on a little extra meaning.

Here's a companion to the photo I posted a couple weeks ago of the Boulevard Gateway Arches at the north end of the . This time around, I moved in for a series of closeups to catch all of the spectrum of the arches in detail, with the spire of The Strat looming over the top. This is a stack of four long-exposure photos to catch all the colors, stitched together to display the lightshow in a way you can't experience in person.

, not an either! This one goes back several years and is the natural color of a beach in Casablanca, with water returning to the sea just after a storm.

Here's a photo from my recent trip to Las Vegas, or, several photos stacked and combined to show all of the colors of the Boulevard Gateway arches just past dusk. This was my first time seeing the arches, as they didn't exist when I was last in Vegas long ago.
