White Tail Deer flagging its tail to warn her nearby fawns of my presence. I stumbled upon this momma doe while looking for owls. She immediately went on high alert by presenting a full flagging of the tail and gave a few hoof stampings as she tried to identify if I was a threat. I thought for sure she was going to “high tail” it outta there but she just ducked back into the brush and went about her day, leaving me with a sweet photo op. 🙌🏻 🦌

January 5 = National Bird Day. I finally had a chance to get out and look for some Snowy Owls. Seems like it’s an irruption year here in New Jersey as it wasn’t too difficult to find some owls. More to come from today’s session.

The Ocean was on full display yesterday morning! I counted 5 whales including a mother teaching her calf to hunt while and Reel Freedom carefully navigated the waters around them looking for a catch of their own. Condolences to Captain and his family on the passing of his mother Beth earlier this week. 🙏🏼
