July has been filled with sleepy newborn cuddles, glowing mamas, sandy toes, beautiful sunsets, and so many wonderful families. Every session this month has been a reminder of why I absolutely love what I do. To every family who stepped in front of my camera this month—thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for inviting me into these fleeting moments, and for allowing me to preserve memories that I hope your family treasures for generations. One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is, "We'll book after the baby arrives." The truth is, my calendar often fills months in advance. Reserving during pregnancy allows me to plan around your due date, so all you have to do once your little one arrives is send me a quick text. If you're expecting this fall, now is the perfect time to reserve your session.

Your images deserve so much more than a folder on your phone. Some of my favorite conversations happen months after a session when clients tell me their toddler points to their newborn portrait every day, or that their album has become part of bedtime. Digital files are important—but printed artwork is what becomes part of your family's story. These are the pieces your children will grow up with and someday pass down to their own families.

Summer has been a whirlwind between my dance, camp, shooting/editing sessions, and soaking up every second with my own kids. It's funny how becoming a mom completely changed the way I photograph families. I'm not looking for perfect smiles anymore—I'm looking for connection ❤️

One of my favorite parts of every newborn session has nothing to do with perfect poses.

It's watching parents slow down.

For a little while, the phones are put away. The to-do lists disappear. The exhaustion takes a back seat. And for just a moment, they're simply soaking in their baby.

These first few weeks are such a blur. The tiny stretches. The sleepy yawns. The way they instinctively curl into your chest. The little noises they'll stop making before you even realize they're gone.

I always hope that when families look back at their images years from now, they don't just remember what their baby looked like—they remember exactly how this season felt.

Those are the memories worth preserving.
