“When should I book my newborn photoshoot?”
The answer might be earlier than you think.
Ideally, your newborn session should be booked while you’re still pregnant. You don’t need to know exactly when your baby will arrive. We reserve your session based on your due date and schedule the actual date once your little one is here.
Booking early gives you time to choose a photographer whose work you truly love, plan the details of your session, and make sure there is availability around your due date without having to scramble once baby arrives.
And if your baby is already here? Please don’t assume you’re too late! Reach out. Depending on availability and your baby’s age, we can still create beautiful portraits. Every baby is different, and your session can be adjusted accordingly.
The newborn stage is incredibly fleeting. Planning ahead means that once your baby arrives, this is one less thing you have to think about.

“What if my baby doesn’t sleep during the photoshoot?”
This is one of the biggest worries I hear from parents before their newborn session… and the answer is: that’s completely okay.
Some babies sleep through their entire session. Some are wide awake and curious about everything going on around them. And some go back and forth between the two.
We follow your baby’s lead.
If they need to eat, we feed. If they need to be cuddled, we cuddle. If they’re content, we photograph them awake and sometimes those wide-eyed expressions and tiny glimpses of personality become some of my favorite images from the entire session.
And that’s where patience and experience make all the difference.
So if you’ve been worried that your baby “won’t cooperate” for newborn photos, please don’t be. There is no such thing as a baby doing their photoshoot wrong. 🤍

Consider the photographer’s experience, safety practices, artistic style, editing skills, consistency, the quality of the finished artwork, and the overall experience they’ll provide.

One-year-olds were never meant to sit still… and honestly, I wouldn’t want them to. 🤍

Some of the sweetest moments happen in between the giggles, the exploring, and play.🎂🥳

My job isn’t to make babies fit into a perfect pose—it’s to create a space where they can be themselves while we capture this tiny chapter of their story. ❤️

And somehow, in the middle of all that, the magic happens. ✨

One of my favorite parts of this job is bringing an idea to life one little detail at a time. 🤍 When the baby’s mom came to me with this idea, I knew it would be extraordinary! Inspired by the timeless, romantic charm of LoveShackFancy, this custom first birthday setup was designed just for one sweet little girl. And her mom got her the perfect outfit for this photoshoot. 🎀💗💙🌹
