These moments in time take my breath away! Wapiti Lake alpha female. The sick people that want to make these beautiful creatures suffer and die just makes us sick.

Can you help us fight the the ugliness? If you are willing please keep reading.

While many of you do not agree with our love of wolves, this vindictive hunter’s public vow that “the matriarch 1090F is going down on the 15th of September” and that “I’ll go archery hunting and I’ll shoot her at the back end so it will take 6 hours for the 1090F to bleed to death” exceeds the boundaries of legal and ethical wolf hunting. This hunter could legally buy a wolf tag and ethically and humanely shoot her, yet he feels the need to torture her. This isn’t just about a wolf. This isn’t just about wolf hunting. This is about outright sworn animal cruelty and the morbid, deliberate extinguishing of a legacy and an iconic portion of Yellowstone National Park.

1090F is the alpha female of Yellowstone National Park’s historic Mollie’s Pack, and at the age of twelve, 1090F is currently the oldest known wolf in Yellowstone. She has outlasted nearly every rival and challenge thrown her way and is still leading her pack with strength and resolve. The Mollie’s pack is descended from the Crystal Creek Pack which was one of the original wolf packs reintroduced to Yellowstone in 1995. This isn’t just a threat against a wolf, it is a threat against the legacy, the restoration, and the iconic come-back story of wolves in our National Park. Unfortunately, when 1090F and her pack left the protective boundaries of Yellowstone to pursue food and territory, her location was unwisely given out and plastered across the media. This immediately endangered her and her pack. As it stands now 1090F will be cruelly shot, tortured, and killed along with any of the other pack members being easy and acceptable targets to hunters like the above mentioned.

Please understand that I don’t want you going to this hunters page and threatening, insulting, or harassing him. However, if you disagree with what he is vowing and planning to do, there is something you can do that I and 1090F would greatly appreciate. Although Wyoming cut its 2026 wolf hunting quota by more than half, it isn’t enough to save 1090F, so if you would, please, RESPECTFULLY write Wyoming Fish and Game and request them to “Temporarily close Wolf Hunt Area 1 while the Mollie’s Pack remains there.” This resilient, beautiful matriarch deserves to live!

Be respectful. Be factual. And ask for something officials can actually do or would consider doing.

The request: Temporarily close Wolf
Hunt Area 1 while Mollie's Pack remains there.
Or a short respectful: say "Please consider the conservation value of
1090F and her role in the pack and research."

I sure hope Mama Longtail and her cubs make an appearance before winter. This morning was a favorite bear morning moment this summer.

Wolf and bison in the same frame and the wolf didn't just turn around and kill it like so many claim the wolves do. I wish the mentality regarding wolves would shift and there could be balance.
