There are so many fun images from Dani and Derek’s day that make me smile, but some of my favorite are the photos featuring Dallas for a few reasons:

1) I love dogs, they will always make me happy.
2) Dani and Derek wanted him to be a full part of the day. He greeted me first thing when I stepped into the bridal suite and was present for most of the day.
3) The couple wasn’t worried about staying perfectly clean all day which was a breath of fresh air.

To all my couples who want their furry friends, go for it but remember, that to pull it off well, you can’t sweat the small stuff and you might just want to have a spare lint roller around.

Quick moments can turn into lasting memories! This favorite shot of mine was snapped en route to the reception—proof that you don’t need to carve out a huge chunk of your day for stunning couple photos. Here’s how to nail those effortlessly candid shots:

Stay connected—whether it's hand-holding or a gentle touch, it adds warmth to the moment.
Forget the camera is there. Immerse yourselves in the celebration, look at your loved ones, or get lost in each other's eyes.

Your wedding is a one-time event, and capturing it in a way that enhances your experience is what I’m all about.

When you look this classic on your wedding day, the photo just screams, "Edit me in black and white!" Who said white is only for the bride? Capturing grooms who are just as stoked about their suit as the bride is about her dress is the best. Got a look you're excited about? I hope to have the privilege of capturing that for you!

While I love snapping those stunning couple portraits (and I'm guilty of only sharing them), there's something special about moments like these—the genuine laughter from your favorite people during a legendary toast. That's the heart of what your day is all about.Think about it, weddings are one of the rare times in your life that you get to gather all your favorite people together and I want to help you remember that.

One of my big goals when shooting weddings is to catch these moments as they happen. These candid shots are gold. "Documentary wedding photographer" might mean different things to different folks, but to me, it's about capturing these moments that you may not even have seen but that you'll have forever to look back on.

Here's a bit of encouragement to make your wedding day something you're absolutely stoked about!Adam and Caitlyn are perfect examples of putting joy first on their big day. Riding into their reception on a horse? Not the most practical choice, but they absolutely loved it! And a ferris wheel at their wedding? Sure, it's not what you'd call "reasonable," but it was what they wanted, and they made it happen, no matter what.

Their desire for what they wanted was stronger than any logistical challenge they faced. My advice to you all: envision your ideal wedding and dream up what you'd like it to be. Make it personal to you, not just what seems trendy or what's popular on Pinterest. Because unless it's YOUR dream, the effort of making it happen might just diminish the joy of your day.

I’m sure I’m breaking all the IG algorithm rules right now by posting back to back, but I’m feeling the rush of motivation and productivity to catch up on sharing these, so here they are 😅

This was the second shoot of my 50 Days project and it was special! .lile was a close friend of mine at Pepperdine but I hadn’t spoken to her for years (maybe 5 years???). Since graduating, she has started a .la which brings positive encouragement to Christians in LA (and beyond because it’s the internet). We created some photos for her business and some photos that just captured the ball of joy that she is.

Reconnecting with old friends and making new ones was one of my biggest goals with this project so I’d say this shoot was a major success!

For those of you who are waiting to see the results of my personal photo project (I’m looking at you mom), here’s the photo recap from my first shoot!

I could not have imagined a more fun shoot. Rachel was truly the most fun person to start this project with and her sister Christina was an amazing bts videographer. Immediately I felt so comfortable working with them and they absolutely crushed the modeling.

The goal of this shoot was to capture images that showed personal growth from dark times into abundant life and joy in her current life. I think we nailed it and had the most fun. What do you think?
