I drove past one of my favorite session spots last night at golden hour and just sat there for a minute because the light was so beautiful and warm and just completely magic. There's a version of your kids right now that only exists for a little while longer. The way they say certain words wrong, the way they still reach for your hand without thinking about it, and the way they look at you like you're their whole world.
I photograph families because I genuinely believe these ordinary moments are the ones that matter most, and I know from experience how fast they go.

Real talk: Your session won't be perfect. Something is going to go wrong or at the very least it won’t be as you expected. This happens to EVERYONE! Your family isn't difficult. Your kids aren’t being too ornery. Every family that steps in front of my camera feels this way. It's typically us moms pleading with our family to just smile for one of us all together. That's great if it happens! It's also ok to just be yourselves and enjoy the time spent together as a family no matter what it looks like. I promise I won't let you leave with terrible photos. So...book the session!

Just a friendly reminder that summer golden hour is not going to last forever and neither are my open spots. July is filling up and August is starting to move too. I keep 8 Golden Hour spots per month and when they are gone they are genuinely gone. No exceptions, no squeezing people in, because that is how I make sure every single family gets my full presence and my best work. If summer photos are on your list this year, now is the time.
