Yes — I still do photography, although on a limited basis. And I am selective in the projects I do these days (and know I'm fortunate to do so).

I hope to, at some point, go back and share some more of the photographs I've taken over the past 15-ish years. In the meantime, have a look around here, and feel free to contact me!

So....

Over two years ago, I explained how I was "taking a break" from photography due to the birth of my daughter, Jane, but that I hoped to get back to it soon.

Yeah right. I knew I wouldn't have a lot of free time, but wow. I have to say, it's been a joy getting to watch her grow. Way better than anything I've ever had the chance to photograph.

But I charged the batteries up last night and tried to take a couple of photographs. Nothing outstanding. No arena strobes. No remote cameras. Just a couple of photographs to recognize my outstanding alma mater.

It was fun. I'll try to do it some more on down the road.

With the birth of my daughter earlier this year, I took a major step back from photography for the first time in over a decade. Traveling all over the country chasing news stories, sporting events, and the perfect shot is a lot fun, but it's also a lot of work — it's felt good to take some time off and watch my baby grow up.

I know I'm extremely fortunate that my many "careers" have allowed me to do that.

But I recently went back to my camera and started working on a few projects. This was one of them: E-4, our newest piece of apparatus at the Camden Fire Department. Photographs from other projects will be coming soon, I'm sure.

Finally, I'm culling through 10 years of photographs — somewhere around a quarter of a million in total — in an effort to upload and share the best or most interesting of them with you and the rest of the world. As you can imagine, this will take some time, but hopefully I'll get there eventually.
