Was reminded there are no rules when it comes to sharing - I can’t possibly fit this celebration in twenty slides so bite sized pieces it is.

The giggles, the giddiness. Glancing at his wedding ring with admiration. Entering your cocktail hour. Seeing your dinner scape for the first time and cheersing with your bridal party. Speeches that bring up old memories. Cutting your cake and then eating the whole damn piece.

I’m not aiming for perfection. There isn’t such a thing. I’m aiming for a feeling, for the closest thing to time travel, for this photo to feel as it was. That seems easy. But it has taken me years. A decade.

Flash or no flash? Wide aperture? Slow shutter? Wide shot? Have them turn or not turn? Direct light? Focal length? Where should my second be, who should they focus on?

I wish this is what I could tell my clients and potential clients. On your wedding day, your photographer has seconds to make these decisions. And THEY MATTER.

Taking a photo just to take it is lazy or it’s the beginning of a career. Deciding that a 24mm shot will impact and capture a moment better than a 70mm shot is experience, choice, taste, art.

Every shot I take is intentional. There’s luck, but there’s experience and expertise. That’s the difference between the work I gave my 2017 couples versus my 2026 couples.
