As we are doing the room reveal this curtain with golden hour light kept catching my eye. Intuition, going with your creative instincts and having a couple being up for all of your visions - that’s where some of the magical wedding moments sneak in. This series is a favorite. The day before or morning of a wedding, I LOVE to take time browsing street photographers work, Pinterest aesthetics, magazines… essentially different less obvious avenues where inspiration can hit. The morning of this wedding, I had seen an advertisement where the product was in this beautiful grass and thought, if the venue had a space for this, I’m doing it for details. Something about the grass makes the formal invites feel more grounded. It’s the perfect contrast in harmony with their wedding day being elevated yet on a lake.

I want everything to make sense while following inspiration. I love love love this shot, and now you know the why behind it.

Wow wow wow.

Charlotte + Oliver, what a powerhouse of a couple. These two were surrounded by kindness, laughter and a whole lot of heartfelt happiness. But what really stood out was the admiration and adoration that was clearly between them. The light touches, small favors - the magnetism between these two was palpable. It was clear everyone present was witnessing the utmost happiness.

And on a professional note - I really hope it hits home when I say that the intimacy of a wedding is never lost on me. Inviting someone in to see their most vulnerable dynamics with friends, family and their chosen partner is a LOT. Trusting someone to do their job WELL is a big deal. I don’t take it lightly. I only ever get ONE chance to capture your wedding just as you get one day to celebrate. Every little idea, gut feeling, energy shift or pop of inspiration will be acted upon. Whether it’s crouching in the streets, standing in a corner with curtains because the lighting is so pretty (next post) or sticking your shoes on a lamp. I love that every wedding sparks something new.

I don’t even know how to make slides anymore because I HAVE SO MANY FAVORITES.
