Hold onto them as tight as you can, for as long as you can… these silly, busy, activity filled days and weekends are only for a blink - and then they’re off into the world 🤍 I love exploring new places with families and seeing the kids sweet and sassy little personalities burst out. It’s the best part of my day!
This family closed out my fall season with laughter and hugs in the most beautiful way, I’m so grateful for them!

Love changes 🤍
It’s funny thinking back to when my own babies were born and in that moment, I couldn’t have imagined loving them more than I did right then - yet as time passes, over the years, I just find myself loving them more and more…
Life simply sets fire to your heart - and it’s magical as a parent to experience.
So, brand new parents… you’re in for a treat - because that brand new little love that you hold in your arms, will soon grow up - and your own heart will just continue to grow right alongside of them! You get to experience it all with them… and it’s an amazing ride ✨

Life’s funny sometimes… the path to where you want to be and the place you are right now isn’t always a straight line - sometimes the twists, turns and great big hills you have to climb to get where you’re going hold more joy than the place you end up.
It’s so easy to see the meaning once you’re at the top, but the real happiness comes in those small moments you find yourself giving it your all🤍 Parenting can feel like that sometimes… but when you freeze one small moment and reflect back - you realize it’s all coming together better than you could have dreamed it!
Find the joy and hug those squishy faces!

There’s magic in the movement ✨
I’ve noticed over the years that when kids are moving, they’re happy… they’re creative and they’re open to new ideas and sharing parts of their day with you that they otherwise might keep buried inside. This revelation has come after being a parent myself and also during the last 14 years that I’ve been photographing families (holy cow that’s a long time 😂), but seriously - little bodies in motion are like magic… and if you take a child on a walk, it opens up a whole new world - one they can’t wait to share with you!
These two particular little ones are sweet and sassy and full of energy… we always manage to cover the entire grounds of the park when we meet - and it’s perfect 🤍

I was just reminded by a client mama how incredible it is to see a finished gallery - especially after you thought everything went wrong during the session - of your beautiful family set to music, that truly captured each little personality… it’s pure magic✨
I know it’s hard, I always try and remind parents - just keep smiling, trust me, it’s going to be great!

Fall is hands down the best and favorite season of the year… I’d bet it all on Fall 🍂 This season of life, the one with the tiny hands, messy house, bedtime routines and big warm hugs… this season is also my favorite 🤍

Fall Fridays…
Ok, technically Fall won’t be here for a few days - but this is literally the best time of the year here in the Midwest… my absolute favorite season… and it really doesn’t get any better than small town football, under the lights on a Friday night 🎉
Next week is Homecoming here in our town and the way everyone comes together to celebrate the kids and cheer on the seniors is something to experience…
As a mom, I always appreciate the fact that senior year is special… it’s full of firsts and many more lasts… it flies by in a blink… and it’s worth all of the pomp and circumstance… Lodi, it’s time to celebrate!
