It was truly an honor to capture the amazing performances by my local community members. They blew me away and were all such beautiful representations of our culture. The showcase was also a great reminder of our Hmong roots, and what it took to come here to America. I'm still in the process of editing but I can't wait to share the photos with you all! 😍✨

Hello and happy 1st of July! 🎊 It’s officially the start of the second half of 2024. I’ve had this page for over one year and haven’t formally introduced myself, so hi! I’m Mainya (pronounced Mai-nyaj), the face and photographer behind Memories Made with Mainya.

A few quick facts about me:
✨ I am 24 years young.
✨ I’m originally Hmong green 💚 although I speak Hmong white at home.
✨ I’m a mama to two cuties 👧👧 + wife to my sweet husband, Thai, who’s my biggest supporter.

And a few fun facts about me:
✨ I love the outdoors! Whether that's going on walks with my babies, going fishing with my husband, hiking, you name it! I have yet to explore everything the outdoors has to offer and I'm looking forward to my next adventure.
✨ I love arts and crafts! This includes bullet journaling, scrapbooking, sewing, and more! The amount of stickers and pens I have is absurd, but necessary (at least that's what I tell myself!) 😆
✨ Baking is my love language. Okay, not really but I am a baker at heart. Brownies and fruit-filled sponge cakes with whipped frosting are my weakness. I have a major sweet tooth!

For the past few months, my family has been my main focus, but I’m ready to jump back into photographing your special moments for you. With that being said, I want to continue to challenge myself in photography. I've been focusing on lifestyle and portrait photography and would like to expand my portfolio into maternity, family, couples, engagements, special announcements, and eventually weddings.

After a much-needed hiatus, I am back and better than ever! I am extremely thankful for all the continued support and I am so excited to share my 2025 Senior Special!

I had the pleasure of doing a bestie session with these two and it was all laughs. We were at the park for almost two hours but it honestly went by so quick! If you want to see more from this session, feel free to take a look at the two posts I shared a couple days ago. Thank you two again for modeling for me!

Side note -- I'm still working on my style. Since I've only started taking photography seriously in the past few months, I'm learning a lot with each session. I plan to take the rest of the year to solidify the type of photography and style I want to continue with. Everything so far has been exciting and fun! Thank you, everyone ❤
