It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done anything here, but I’m hoping to get back into it. Wildfire smoke drifting in from Canada made for some extended “golden hours” for much of last week.

Side note: this is one of my favorite pictures from my backpacking trip back in 2018 - in the days when I just started taking up photography.

What it means to have "faith like a child" is something that has been on my mind recently. Trusting in the Lord as a child trusts their parent is not something that comes naturally, but it takes intentional effort. Letting Him be who I turn to in moments of hurt or uncertainty is an area I am still growing in.

Missing being out west with this goon (shoutout summer '20). Spending a whole month getting to explore some of the most spectacular parts of God's creation was nothing short of awe-inspiring. What an incredible God I live for! This trip also lead to a lot of growth in my photography skills (which still have a long way to go). Can't wait till my next big trip!

Here are some of my favorite photos from my first roll of film that I've shot! Film requires me to slow down and be more intentional with the shots I take. It's a subtle reminder in this season of transition to slow down and be more intentional with the friends who surround me. I can see why so many of my friends have gotten hooked on film - it felt like a childhood Christmas when I got my photos back and could see them for the first time!

It's not often we get an ice storm like this in Kentucky, so I knew I wanted to try to capture some of it. I made the decision late last night to get to campus early and try to get some photos at sunrise. Despite the heavy clouds removing all color from the sky, it was still a beautiful and eerie sight to see. There's something special about seeing everything frozen in a moment of time.
