A little change moving forward 🤍
As you might have seen from some of my close photographer friends and other photographers across the photography community, there has been a lot of discussion lately surrounding the rapidly changing laws and concerns regarding AI and the misuse of children’s images.
As a former childcare provider, I absolutely love photographing your children and being trusted to capture their little personalities, milestones, and memories. I genuinely adore getting to create these moments for your families.
But honestly, the things we are seeing surrounding the misuse of children’s images absolutely disgust me. It breaks my heart knowing that innocent photographs of children can potentially be taken and manipulated in ways that no child should ever be subjected to.
Because of this, I’ve made the decision that I will no longer be publicly posting identifiable photos of children’s faces.
I want to protect the children I photograph in any way, shape, or form that I possibly can. Even if that means changing how I share my work, it is a change I am more than willing to make.
This does NOT mean I’m going to stop photographing your little ones or stop creating the fun, magical, beautiful images you’ve hired me to capture. Your full galleries will still be delivered to you exactly as promised. 🤍
Moving forward, when sharing children’s sessions publicly, I’ll be choosing images where their faces aren’t visible, cropping images, photographing from behind, or otherwise keeping their identities private.
I know some parents love seeing their babies featured on my page, and I truly appreciate every family who has trusted me with their memories. This decision is simply me doing everything within my power to be proactive and protect the children who are placed in my care during their sessions.
Your babies deserve to have their images protected, and I will always choose their safety and privacy over a social media post.
Thank you for understanding and for continuing to trust Katie D Photography with your families. 🤍
