That was Kasey and Sebastian’s vision for their save-the-date photos, and I knew Hotel Forty Five would fit their vibe perfectly!

The grounds of Hewitt Oaks hold generations of family memories, making them the perfect place for Sarah and Caleb to begin their own.

Sarah’s grandparents once owned this property, and she spent her childhood riding horses, fishing, and hunting here with her family. Even after it was sold, she never let go of the dream of returning one day to get married here.

Sarah met Caleb in high school, and after seven years of growing up together, they stepped into this new chapter as husband and wife. Every detail reflected their story, from the dried flower petals tossed during their exit that were made from bouquets Caleb had given Sarah throughout their relationship to the meaningful family traditions woven throughout the day.

More than anything, I loved watching them keep the focus on what truly mattered. They weren’t just planning a beautiful wedding. They were preparing for a lifelong covenant, and that joy and intentionality were evident in every moment.

The rain couldn’t hold back these two lovebirds during their engagement session! Nathan and Sydney are truly the sweetest, and I loved getting to capture this season for them.

Georgia summers may be brutal when it comes to the heat, but there’s something so beautiful about this time of year. Everything is lush, green and in bloom. I’m so glad we were able to catch a few of these gorgeous blooms along the way.

I always love the noticeable difference between the guys getting ready and the girls. The girls’ side is usually filled with a flurry of pop music, giggles, chatter, and a dash of chaos. Meanwhile, the guys are usually laid back, sipping on a drink, cracking jokes, and acting like it’s just another day.

But usually for the groom underneath it all, there’s still this quiet nervousness leading up to the first look or ceremon. Then, the moment they finally see their bride, you can almost watch the anticipation melt into relief.

I think that’s when you know you’ve found the right one though when simply seeing them puts you at ease and reminds you what home feels like.

I truly believe the best photos happen when there’s trust between a couple and their photographer and Victoria and Morgan are an example of that!

Throughout their wedding day, thunder was rumbling in the distance, weather forecasts were constantly changing, and there were several moments when I had to make quick judgment calls. Knowing that Victoria trusted my vision and experience made everything feel seamless. Somehow, we managed to finish all of their major portraits just before the skies opened up with a torrential downpour.

More than anything, I’m grateful for couples like these two. They are incredibly kind, genuine, and so clearly in love. The real deal.

Thinking back to this beautiful day at the Gaillard Center in Charleston, SC 🤍

There’s something about being around creatives who truly love what they do. Personally, I’ve spent so many hours watching tutorials, researching, and refining my craft, but the journey can feel a little lonely at times. Being in a space like this reminded me how important it is to have people around you who get it. People who encourage you, challenge you, and help you see things you might miss on your own.
