I read a lot more “for fun” books last year than I had in a while! Probably because I had a lot more time after graduating 😅 I only finished 11 books, but they were all wonderful. I definitely tend towards theology and non-fiction books, but I definitely love a good sci-fi book. I’m currently reading The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (the third book in the Hitchhoker’s Guide to the Galaxy series).

I can’t say this enough. Organize EVERYTHING! As your business grows, you will want to find everything from contracts to emails to graphics and everything in between with a simple search of your files. Here are a few ideas to help you keep track of things.

1- Do you have multiple files related to one project? Besides putting them in one folder, you can also name them similarly. For example;
Project.jpg
Project_draft.pdf
Project_draft.xlxs

2- Use Tags! I do this a lot actually— especially with the sheet music on my iPad. For some reason, there’s this one particular piece that I kept losing track of. So when I found it, I marked it and all my other sheet music purple so I could easily find it.

BONUS— This isn’t limited to the files on your computer. You can also do this on other platforms like Adobe programs or Canva. I would say be careful especially with Canva. I feel like it’s a little difficult to navigate the “All Your Designs” tab. Make sure to give your file a title you will rber

Happy New Year, guys! I realize I’m a week late, but that’s okay 🙃

Do you have any goals this year— either business related or personal? I would love to read, at least, one book a month and re-read a few books that I finished last year. My main business goal is to post consistently 😅

Whether our goals are for our personal growth or for for the benefit of others, setting goals helps us focus our attention on what we value most. I hope that as we journey through 2022, we all will accomplish our goals together.

Want to hear a funny story? Here ya go!

Sometime during my freshman year of university, I got invited to my hall’s Ugly Sweater Party. A few friends and I drove over to the store to find some. I remembered hearing that the men’s section had better sweaters, so I waked over. Immediatey, I saw a sweater with a unicorn on it and, because of my inexplicable love for unicorns, didn’t think twice about getting it.

Fast forward three years. I’m a preschool teacher. One of the themes for our Christmas spirit week was Ugly Sweater Day. Perfect! I dug the unicorn sweater from my closet, put it on, then headed to school. When I took a quick trip to the restroom before the kids got to school I got a proper look at my shirt and realized something.

To my amusement, my shirt has jackalopes and Big Foot alongside the unicorn. With “BELIEVE” in big red letters. I’m not one to believe in these sorts of things 😂😬 Thankfully, none of the kids asked about Big Foot or the jackalopes.

But I think now is a good time to get a new ugly Christmas sweater that doesn’t imply that I believe in Big Foot. 😂

The 12 days of Christmas are the days between Christmas and Epiphany, not the 12 days leading up to Christmas? Traditionally, Advent (the 40 days before Christmas) is a time of reflecting on the impact of the birth of our Lord while the 12 Days of Christmas are a time of celebration.
