Story time: There are moments in life you just have to wait for. Some small, some huge, others you kind of forget you were waiting.
The moments of waiting are the ones the seem to hit 100x harder.
I’ve known the Vaughan’s for 12 years. When I got started in photography I asked Megan and Mitch a million questions about everything. She always was so helpful and graceful. Mitch showed love through letting me work out with him a few times and I instantly regretting it but we also cheering each other along on life small victories. Iron sharpening iron.
As the years flew by, we shared life’s journey parallel from each other as family and responsibilities keep us just close enough that the occasional text chain and gifs filled our individual peaks and valleys.
Then came the greenhouse.. the dream, the recovery, the reminder the God’s silver lining is not our own in the storm. Mitch persuaded me to come help stain one day. He climbed around the top like he could fly and I stayed closer to the ground complaining of the heat.
More time passed and I got to watch as Megan and Mitch created an illusion of time, a moment of peace, and the purpose of community. Watching at a distance, respectfully, in awe.
