I’ve seen a lot of conversations lately about AI and sharing children’s photos online, and as a children’s photographer, I wanted to share where I stand.
I completely understand the concerns surrounding AI and why some parents and photographers are choosing not to share identifiable images of children online, as I don’t share my own other than with family and very close friends.
At the same time, sharing my work is a huge part of my photography business. It’s how new families are able to see what a newborn session, milestone session, cake smash, or family session with me actually looks like. My portfolio shows the real moments, personalities, and memories I get to capture. BUT with that being said, if a parent does not want a child shown I 100% respect that and have always!
If a blur can be placed over the child’s face, as a request from the parent I WILL do that!
I will continue sharing my photography work, including images of children, but ONLY with permission as I always have.
If you don’t want your child’s face shared, just tell me. No explanation needed and absolutely no pressure. There’s been many many sessions I’ve taken and simply just not shared as the family didn’t want them public. I’m also happy to share only detail shots or images where your child isn’t identifiable such as turned around or from the side.
I strive to make everyone happy, and plan to keep doing so🫶🏻
