One phrase you’ll never hear me say on a wedding day:

“Can you do that again for the camera?”

Your wedding isn’t a performance. It’s not a photoshoot. We aren’t going to do takes, fake emotions, or phone things in.

Instead, we anticipate moments before they even happen. We know when to lean in and art direct, and when to melt away and let something unfold on its own.

Because as soon as you start manufacturing a moment, it loses all value.

Authenticity over artifice. Always.

Honestly feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the beauty I've had the privilege of creating with my clients lately. Spring is certainly off to a stunning start around here!

In just the past couple of weeks we've seen cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin, quiet, elegant moments in the studio for our Motherhood Event, the majesty of Great Falls, the endless rolling hills of a tulip farm, and gorgeous intimate wedding on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.

Spring is right around the corner, so let’s kick off spring with a look back at cherry blossom seasons past 🌸

When it comes to springtime splendor, the Tidal Basin in DC truly cannot be beat. Imagine being surrounded by delicate dancing blooms, strolling along the water and taking in the scenery. It’s absolutely magical, and absolutely worth braving the traffic and crowds for!

Thrilled to see images from this session at the National Portrait Gallery shared by over the weekend!

One of my major goals for 2025 was to shoot more often in museums and galleries. For as long as I can remember, art has been my happy place: a space to linger, savor, and quiet my busy brain for just a little while.

It may be early January, but these gorgeous cherry blossom views are just around the corner.

The Tidal Basin and surrounding areas typically bloom in late March, maybe the first week of April depending on many factors. There are other locations and tree species that bloom earlier or later, and luckily I know all sorts of hidden gem locations around DC.
