Watching the sunrise at this location, on this morning, must have been on everyone’s bucket list because when I showed up 20 minutes before sunrise the parking lot was FULL. But they found a spot to the side all to themselves and he made it work. It was such a sweet, intimate proposal despite the circumstances, and check out that sunrise!

A little reminder as colder weather rolls in that not everything has to happen outdoors. In-home sessions are one of my favorite ways to photograph this season of life because it’s your space, where you’re naturally making memories every day.

Newborn, maternity, couples and family sessions are available throughout the winter. I also have openings for in-home holiday sessions beginning in mid-November, so keep that in mind if you’ll have family in town or just want updated photos without having to bundle everyone up and head outside.

There are so many photos from Julie and Al’s elopement that I can’t wait to share, but I feel like the bridal portraits needed a post of their own. We didn’t plan on the weather we got, but she fit the moody, foggy mountain vibe so perfectly, and Shenandoah Valley Wedding Hair & Makeup Artist did an absolutely beautiful job as always!

Austin planned this proposal so thoughtfully, and watching the whole thing come together was incredibly sweet.

Karen and George kept their wedding day simple and meaningful, with a quiet ceremony by the river and their two best friends by their side. River Dell Bed & Breakfast was the setting for the entire day, from getting ready to a celebratory brunch and cake, all made on-site.

I love being part of weddings that are really personal and a little unconventional. Even the date was chosen intentionally: Karen picked 8/8 because of the meaning it holds for her.

This was such a fun proposal to help plan. Matt knew he wanted to propose at the vineyard, but needed a little help finding the perfect spot. So I took a day trip out to scout the property and choose the exact location ahead of time (and enjoy a glass of w**e and the beautiful view).

I’m so eager to share photos from this elopement, but for now it’s still a secret! We changed plans very last minute in order to find a location with a really great view of the mountains. It was intimate, personal, and so beautiful I actually teared up during their vows 🥹
